CreatorCochrane, IanDate1980-2014DescriptionIan Cochrane went to Papua New Guinea in 1950 as a trainee plantation manager for WR Carpenter and Company. These records include his experiences as a plantation manager on Karkar Island, Komalu Plantation in New Ireland and on Bougainville 1950 – 1954. Records also document relationships with PNG people, administration officials, clergy, and other plantation managers, as well as workplace organization, supplies, and communications in the region during this period.
