CreatorHill, StephenDate1989-1995DescriptionProfessor Stephen Hill was the foundation Professor of the Department of Sociology and then Director of the Centre for Research Policy at the University of Wollongong during the 1980s-1990s. In 2005 Professor Hill retired from his post as Director, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Office, Jakarta, after working for UNESCO for 10 years. Based in Indonesia and part-time in Paris, he served as UN Ambassador and Regional Director of the United Nations for Science for Asia and the Pacific.
