BranchDate1875-1975DescriptionThe Federated Clothing Trades of the Commonwealth of Australia Industrial Union of Employees was formed in 1907 to take advantage of the provisions of the newly introduced Commonwealth Arbitration Act. A NSW branch of the Association was formed in May 1917. In 1922 the title was altered to the Federated Clothing and Allied Trades' Union. The title was again changed in 1924 when it became the Amalgamated Clothing and Allied Trades' Union.
