By: Georgina G GE4th Mar 2018 11:18PMAs this photo contains all four people photographed in the images of Mr Ronaldson's house and the side view of the house, we can be sure this photo has been taken on the verandah of that same house. The house was built for the mine managers of the Mt Kembla Coal and Oil Company circa 1880s close to the mine site in Kembla Heights. The house is still standing to this day and heritage listed. It has always been owned by the owners of Mt Kembla Colliery which was purchased by BHP Billiton. In 2005 they built a new mine nearby called Dendrobium, this coal mine is currently South32. The house along with the most of the village of Kembla Heights is company owned.

Given the estimated date of this photo and the dates we know Mr Ronaldson was mine manger 1890-1896 we can narrow this photo date down a little more. Mr Ronaldson is likely seated on the left with his dog sitting on his lap.
