At the Port Kembla wharves he took on a meeting of wharfies during their lunch break. -- You could hear the sighs of relief all over Wollongong - no, not the fact that Australia has decided not to devalue its currency, but because the first load of draught beer rolled into the city this afternoon. The Charles Hotel at Fairy Meadow was the first hotel in the area to receive a load of freshly brewed beer since the beer strike hit Sydney two weeks ago. -- The old made way for the new today, with a spectacular crash. The crash came from an old house in Robson Road Keiraville, as it hit the ground, under the onslaught of a bulldozer. The house was built in 1896 for about 120 pounds, and has been the home of many families. -- A group of Navy divers are at present carrying out a survey at Port Kembla Harbour, but the reason is classified information.
