The fence around the church had bricks placed along the top recently and apparently during the weekend vandals decided to push them off. -- By the middle of next year, Wollongong University College will be operating one of the largest solar observatory stations in Australia. -- The leader of the opposition Mr Gough Whitlam officially opened the 30th annual Apex convention in Wollongong this weekend. -- A huge crowd, which packed Auburn Street, Goulburn this morning, caused a minor sensation when the Lilac Time procession was almost brought to a standstill on several occasions. -- Kiama Council's visit to the Broken Bay National fitness camp dispelled any fears they had about the erection of a camp at Minnamurra by the Department of Education. -- Although not accident-free, the holiday weekend on the South Coast hasn't added to the growing road toll. Over the past 3 days 20 people have been injured in road accidents, 75 motorists have been booked for speeding, 25 charged with serious traffic breaches, and 225 infringement notices have been issued.
