He is 25 years old Pasquale Calarco, of Liverpool, who was rescued from Sandon Point Beach. -- Thieves struck in Wollongong last night, but only escaped with about $150, due to the intervention of nightwatchmen. At Beaurepaires North Wollongong depot on the Princes Highway, thieves broke into the building by smashing a window. -- A special train of railway enthusiasts spent today on the South Coast after a trip from Sydney, hauled by an historic locomotive, the 3803. The train brought 200 members of the Rail Transport Museum to Port Kembla for a one day tour. -- Retail traders on the South Coast expect to have record trading figures by the end of the 1967-68 holiday season. The influx of tourists to holiday areas on the South Coast has swollen trading figures, despite the usual end of year slump. -- Bulli Surf Club had the honour of holding the first surf carnival of 1968, but we doubt if the older members of the club are too happy about it. The reason? Well, for the second year running, the older members of the surf club were defeated by the junior members. -- A scheme to provide sewerage to a subdivision near Campbelltown, could not successfully be applied to further South Coast development.
