The amount spent on the clearing of over hanging rock from the roadway has not been disclosed. But unofficial reports place the cost around the $30,000 mark. It is exactly nine weeks today since the road was closed, between Clifton and Coalcliff because of the danger of falling rock. -- The Department of Education Vacation Play Centres will begin next week, providing welcome relief for parents who are tiring a little of the school holidays. The play centres are sponsored jointly by the Department and local councils, and are arranged by the Physical Education branch of the Department. -- In Wollongong this afternoon, Australia's top industrialists joined with Port Kembla steelworkers in a memorial service to Mr AA Parrish. Mr Parrish died last Friday, and was buried in Melbourne on Wednesday. -- Maritime Officers in Port Kembla are currently going through one of the busiest periods ever. During the past 24 hours, the port has seen more than 15 arrivals and departures.
