Mr Fuller, the minister for decentralisation, said this in Nowra, following a three day inspection of the Shoalhaven. -- Two New Guinea school girls arrived in Wollongong today to complete their school year at Smiths Hill Girls High. The plan to bring the two girls to Wollongong began during the middle of the year, when School principal Miss D Shakely requested permission from the Department of Education, and the Department of Territories. -- A truck driver had a terrifying few seconds on Saturday, when his truck laden with soft drinks got out of control and career down the Mount Ousley Road. the truck race to cross the busy Princes Highway and ended up in a vacant block of land. Also, at Bellambi three cars were involved in a spectacular collision which held up traffic on the Princes Highway before the cars were removed from the centre of the road. -- 40 members of the National Council of the Australian Boy Scouts Association met in Wollongong during the weekend, for their 9th Annual Meeting. The meeting, which was held at the Mt Keira Scout Camp, was the first conducted outside a capital city. -- A local motorbike rider proved that he could beat some of the world's top riders when he came joint first at yesterday's international motorbike scramble at the Mount Kembla racing circuit. -- Dogged by bad luck, the Shellharbour Water Ski Club was yesterday forced to abandon its Ocean Ski Classic, but it was replaced by a race around Lake Illawarra. Last month the club was forced to postpone the ocean event because of the lack of entries, and yesterday huge seas made it impossible to launch a boat. -- Cars belonging to Young Christian Workers in the Wollongong Diocese were blessed in Wollongong yesterday. The car blessing ceremony took place in the grounds of St Xavior's Cathedral, Wollongong. -- A helicopter flew over South Coast beaches and Wollongong on Saturday, to help Greenacres special school and workshop.
