The paintings had been donated to the Goulburn Combined Church youth organisation following requests for a donation of a work of art from various well-known personalities. -- Two boats overturned in rough seas off Wollongong yesterday during a spear fishing contest. The contest had been arranged by the southern division of the Underwater Skindivers and Fishermen's Association of New South Wales to raise funds for the Jaycees. -- Another record was entered in the South Coast record book today, in the Port Kembla inner harbour the record was set as the ship Shoen Maru took on its cargo of steel products for Europe. This load of 24,000 Tons of steel products is the largest special charter ever to leave the South Coast. -- The Illawarra Natural History Society, normally concerned with the various types of wildlife found in and around the Illawarra region, has struck out against the degree of pollution that exists in the area. In the latest issue of the society's bulletin, the editorial takes the stand that pollution, in all its forms, has become second nature to us. -- Work commenced yesterday on what Wollongong pedestrians described as a foot saver – the resealing of Wollongong bumpy footpaths.
