At next week's meeting of the Parks and Gardens committee of the council, a list of suggested works will be presented for consideration. This week, the two ward Aldermen , Alderman Parish and Handley, meet with Mayor Bevan for discussions on the site. -- A Nowra firm, operating in the South Coast and Tablelands area, has found the ideal solution to the problem of old car bodies. Just outside Goulburn, the firm, Hollingsworth and Sons, has set up a crushing plant to dispose of old car chasses. After they are crushed, the car bodies are exported mainly to Japan. -- The Federal Member for Cunningham, Mr. Rex Connor, faced university students today to describe his inspection tour of Australia's North. Held at the Union Building of the university, Mr. Connor briefly outlined the Labor Party's policy to Northern development. Also at the university, last night saw the clash between debating teams from the YCW and the Kembla Toastmistresses Club. Debating the subject of ASSES, the two teams tried to out-argue each other. -- Two Olympic swimmers made a presentation to the champions of West Wollongong Primary School. Marguerite Rugnok and Jan Murphy both represented Australia in the Tokyo Olympics, and so these Primary School champions couldn't have been in better hands. The whole school turned out to watch the two swimmers present pockets to six up and coming swimmers. -- A junior Community Service Club, the first of its kind on the South Coast, has been formed at Keira Boys High School.
